Resident Musician

B.M., Jazz, Cornish College of the Arts

Greg began teaching at the Seattle Girls School in the Fall of 2008. As resident musician, he instructs the 5th grade ukulele class and the 6th grade guitar class, and directs the Wednesday Workshop rock band, the afterschool rock band and facilitates the SGS staff rock band. Greg holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Cornish College of the Arts. In addition to teaching at SGS, he also maintains a career as a performing artist and composer. In 2010, Greg released a CD of all original string jazz compositions, Look Both Ways, which reached #1 on the Roots Music Review Jazz chart and appeared on the NBC TV show, Parks and Recreation.

Why do I love middle school?  I am continuously inspired by my students’ open-mindedness, dedication and passion. When a middle-school student decides to do something, they give themselves fully to the endeavor.
