How to Apply

The Admission Committee at SGS wants to get to know you, your interests, goals, ideas, and your family. We consider all aspects of your application in our admission decisions. If you have any questions contact the Asha Dean, Director of Enrollment Management at adean@seattlegirlsschool.org or call 206-709-2228 ext:1220.

The Application Process

1. Complete the SGS Preliminary Application and submit the non-refundable $75 application fee through Ravenna. You must complete these two steps before you will be able to schedule a visit or proceed with the rest of the application. Please contact adean@seattlegirlsschool.org to request a fee waiver if the application fee presents a barrier for your family.

2. Schedule your visits through Ravenna.
 
3.Complete the Parent/Guardian and Student Essays in Ravenna.
 
4. Print and sign the Request for Records form and submit it to your student's current school. Schools will send transcripts/report cards directly to Seattle Girls' School.
 
5. Delegate the Teacher Evaluation forms in Ravenna to two of your student’s current or recent teachers. 
 
6. Delegate the School Administrator form in Ravenna to your student’s school registrar, division director or principal.

  • Applying Online

    To begin the application process, you will need to create an account in Ravenna. Through Ravenna you can manage your application online as well as receive admission decisions.

    If you have any questions or concerns creating your account or logging in, please email help@ravennasolutions.com.

  • Post-deadline applications

    We will continue to accept applications for specific grades on a rolling basis. Email adean@seattlegirlsschool.org for more information.

  • Standardized Testing

    SGS is test optional.

  • Student Visit Experience

    During this morning visit, prospective students will get familiarized with our school, hear from a panel of current students, and complete a small group project facilitated by an SGS faculty or staff member. Parents/guardians are encouraged to stay as we have a concurrent adult focused event for them.

    Please register your student through Ravenna. Visits begin in November and continue through the first week of February. You can schedule a visit upon completion of your Preliminary Application in Ravenna.

    All visits are on Wednesdays from 9:45 - 11:55 a.m.

  • Virtual Parent/Guardian Interview

    Schedule your interview through Ravenna.

  • Admission Decisions

    Decisions will be released at noon on Friday, March 22, 2024. Admitted families will have until Friday, March 29 to respond.
