Strategic Goals

1. Engage students in maturing programs with compelling impact

SGS will strengthen and mature our program and operations, capturing and preserving our best practices while also fostering innovation and enhancing our ability to communicate our impact.

SGS will:
- Assess our current curriculum, and codify our anti-bias and anti-racist curriculum
- Explore co-curricular offerings to meet current and emerging student interests
- Launch a study to capture key data and outcomes of our program, while continuing to document processes and policies across the school
- Launch the SGS Leadership Lab: a forum to attract inspiring female, trans, and non-binary leaders who will share their stories with our students and facilitate the creation of new community partnerships to expand opportunities for our students to learn leadership skills beyond the walls of SGS.

2. Support students by deepening partnerships with families

The more connected our families and other adults supporting students are to the school and to each other, the stronger we all are in our efforts to help our students.

SGS will:
- Re-imagine how we welcome and engage families
  Strengthen mental health and learning supports for students
- Partner with students and families to articulate the SGS challenge growth arc, putting words to the experience our students have of the increasing independence and responsibility built into our program
- Design an anti-bias/anti-racist family development and programming series
- Audit our approach to communicating to families
- Provide regular opportunities for feedback
- Change adult/family events to remove barriers to participation and meet current and emerging needs

3. Empower students through thriving employees

SGS will be the employer of choice for educators who are inspired to make a difference in the lives of middle school students.

- Enhance the employee experience, considering workloads and opportunities for collaboration, as well as building culture and sustaining morale.
- Improve the current compensation model
- Reimagine the employee onboarding model
- Build out our anti-bias/anti-racist employee training and development

4. Create spaces for students to play, lead and connect

SGS will grow our new permanent campus by building a large multi-purpose space to expand and deepen our student programs and create a gathering space for outreach and partnerships with our larger community.

- Explore timeline and plan for the fundraising, design and construction of a multi-purpose room/gym
- Create a plan for expanding community partnerships
- Continue to offer anti-bias and anti-racism programing to external audiences
